My disobedience
Some thoughts that come to mind when I see myself disobeying God's word in the light of Eve's disobedience:
- Seeing ‘the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil' that I should not see.
The fact that the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil is pleasing to my eyes,
it is evidence that I have already turned my eyes away from looking at the Lord.
.
- Hearing the word of Satan's delusion that I should not listen to.
Although I should not listen to Satan at all, nor mix with Satan,
the fact that I am already mixing with Satan's lies in the realm of thought
is evidence that I am ignoring the voice of the Lord.
- Not being afraid of the consequences of disobedience.
Although I am far from the Lord and close to ‘the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil’,
and keep on making sinful choices to satisfy the lust of my eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life and not being afraid of the consequences of my disobedience,
it is evidence that I am not fearing God.
