Satan takes away from our hearts the word we hear

And prevents us from being saved by believing in Jesus (Lk. 8:12).

Satan prevents the word that we received with joy to be rooted deeply in our hearts

So that we believe for a while, we fall away in times of testing (v. 13).

Satan makes us, who have heard the word, to be choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures

So that we may not mature (v. 14).

But the Lord makes us, who have heard the word, in an honest and good heart,

And hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance (v. 15).
