In memory of the late Bun-nam Choi

The place I went to was the apartment where Grandma Bun-nam Choi of our church lived.

I thought I would not be able to meet her.  But thankfully I met her in the courtyard of the apartment complex.

So I followed her and went into her apartment.

When I sat down at the kitchen table, Grandma Choi took out a water bottle from the refrigerator and brought it to the table.  Then, she removed one leftover green bean paste and gave me a new one under it.

To Grandma Choi, who has no appetite, can't eat properly, has a headache, and is in so much pain,

and who told me that it is better to die than to live, I said, ‘'There is no pain, there is no loneliness, there is no sorrow and death in heaven and we will live there forever and ever with the Lord.’

Then Grandma Choi said that she wanted to go to that heaven quickly.

So I asked her, ‘Grandma, do you believe in Jesus?’  She replied, ‘I believe.’

After hearing the Grandma Choi’s confession, I got up from my chair,

approached her, put my hands on her shoulders, and prayed to God.

After that, I parted from her and walked to the door.  And she was about to come out, and said to me ‘Pastor.’

So I approached her again and hugged her.

Then Grandma Choi leaned in my arms and cried.  I hugged her tightly.
