Grandma Bong-hee Lim
In our church, there is a 92-year-old grandmother named Bong-hee Lim.
Today, I called her daughter's workplace and got the nursing home address where she is,
and visited her with our church elder. I was surprised to see her sitting in a wheelchair.
It's because she has grown so much older since I haven't seen her. She said it's too hard now.
So, together with the elder, I held her left hand and prayed to Heavenly Father together.
After the prayer, I stroked her back and encouraged her, who only says ‘Thank you’ to us,
who loves the Lord, loves Victory Presbyterian Church, loves our church retired pastor,
and loves me and our church members, to put her hope in the eternal heaven.
Grandma Lim, who wore pretty clothes as if they were bought by her children and cut her hair neatly,
even though her body is getting weaker day by day and her heart is getting weaker day by day,
I believe that Heavenly Father, who loves her the most, will hold her and will give her strength.
The words of Grandma Lim before we parted are still in my heart: 'I have a lot of memories’ -
Many memories that God has planted in her heart over the years
as God led Grandma Lim to Victory Presbyterian Church.
I still remember Grandma Lim walking down the street when she was healthy, picking up empty cans,
selling them, and donating them to the church.
I remember one day while picking up a can, she fell and got a cast on her arm.
Although she couldn't read, Grandma Lim tried to obey God's word written on her heart with love for the church.
She proudly (?) said to me that she offered tithing even in the midst of a hardship,
and she made me coffee every time I visited her apartment.
I hugged her while stroking her cheek and saying ‘I love you’ before parting.
