Conversation with children
A few days ago, on a Sunday morning while driving to church, I played a gospel song in the car.
My daughter Yeri said, ‘I know that song,’ maybe because she might heart the word “God,”
and said, “God Is So Good.” And then she said, “I want to be God.”
I was a little surprised because I thought she meant she want to become like God, which is the core of New Age thinking. But my wife corrected Yeri’s word by asking her, ‘You want to be with God?’
Here's the conversation with my son Dillon:
Yeri: I want to be with God.
Dillon: Then you must die.
Yeri: Are you going to miss me?
I laughed as I listened to this conversation of the children.
After Brother Mark Dubrin's death, I taught the children that Uncle Mark is now with God in heaven.
Perhaps Dillon thought that he had to die to go to heaven and be with God.
On the one hand, I laughed because of the simple-minded children's conversations
On the other hand, like Brother Mark, I want to be with God in heaven.
