He will also give life to your mortal bodies

Someday we will all die (Eccle. 7:2). 

We are made up of a body and a spirit (Rom. 8:10). 

In other words, our bodies are mortal (v. 11).

The reason why our spirits as well as our bodies die is

Because of the sin (original sin) of one man, Adam (5:12).

But if Christ is in us through the Holy Spirit,

The body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive (8:10).

When we die, our bodies return to the dust but our spirits go to heaven.

Christ Jesus has been raised from the dead

And He became the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep (dead) (1 Cor. 15:20).

Jesus was resurrected.

The Bible says that since Jesus was resurrected,

We who believe in Jesus and who who belong to Christ (v. 23) will also be resurrected.

Jesus’ resurrection is our resurrection.

God who raised Jesus from the dead

Will also give life to our mortal bodies through the Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:11).

Because the resurrection is the work of the Holy Trinity (v. 11)

We will surely be resurrected.

When Jesus comes (1 Cor. 15:23), when the last trumpet will sound (v. 52),

We will be resurrected with a glorious body like the resurrected body of Christ (Phil. 3:21; 1 Jn. 3:2).

How shall we who believe in the resurrection of Jesus and our resurrection live?

We should let nothing move us and always give ourselves fully to the work of the Lord (1 Cor. 15:58).
