It is interesting.

Although obedience is better than sacrifice, King Saul disobeyed the Lord’s command

“Go and utterly destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are exterminated”

(1 Sam. 15:18, 22).

As a result, King Saul was rejected by God (v. 23) and later killed by the Amalekites (2 Sam. 1:8-10).

It is interesting that the result of not destroying the Amalekites, King Saul was killed by the Amalikites.
