300 and 30?
While a woman with an alabaster vial of very costly perfume or pure nard
that was worth more than 300 denarii broke the vial and poured it over Jesus’ head (Mk. 14:3, 5, 8),
Judas Iscariot, one of His disciples (Jn. 12:4, 5), who rebuked the woman
“For this perfume might have been sold for over three hundred denarii (Mk. 14:5),
sold Jesus to the chief priests (vv. 10, 11) at the price 30 pieces of silver (Mt. 27:3).
