God who did not turn away wrath
When the king of Nineveh and his people turned from their wicked way,
Then God relented concerning the calamity which He had declared He would bring upon them (Jon. 3:10).
But God didn’t turn from the fierceness of His great wrath with which His anger burned against Judah
because of all the provocations with which Manasseh had provoked Him (2 Kgs. 23:26).
Although there was no king like Josiah, the king of Judah, who turned to the Lord with all his heart
and with all his soul and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses;
nor did any like him arose after him,
God didn’t turn from the fierceness of His great wrath with which His anger burned against Judah
(2 Kgs. 23:25, 26).
When Father God made His begotten Son Jesus, who was without sin,
to bear all our sins and to die on the cross, He didn’t His turn all the wrath, but poured out all His wrath upon His Son Jesus.
