Even a man’s vain wisdom ...
What the king of Egypt did in order to deal with the Israelites, who were fruitful,
increased greatly, multiplied and became exceedingly mighty,
wisely was to make the Israelites’ lives bitter with hard labor (Exod. 1:7, 10-12, 14).
But God even used the Egyptian king’s vain wisdom
to make the Israelites to cry out to God in their bondage (2:23).
So God heard their groaning and remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (v. 24).
God saw the Israelites and took notice of them (v. 25).
I hope and pray that those who are in distress and
who cry out to the Lord receive their prayers answered and be delivered from their suffering.
Even the man’s vain wisdom is in God’s sovereign wisdom.
