Saul gave approval to Stephen’s death (Acts 8:1).

King Herod had James put to death with the sword and proceeded to seize Peter also (12:2, 4).

Stronger adversaries: From Saul to King Herod.

More important people (?): Stephen to James (and Peter).

It seems that “a great persecution” that was broke out against the church

because of Stephen’s death grew even bigger (8:1).

There will be more difficulties and persecutions in our journey of faith.

And our adversaries can become stronger people.

The lives of the more important people around us may lose their lives or can be persecuted.
