Joseph and Jesus?
Although the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt were in jail because they offended their master, the king of Egypt (Gen. 40:1), Joseph was in the same jail even though he had done nothing to deserve it (v. 15; ch. 39).
And the warden told righteous Joseph to serve the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt because they were the most important prisoners to him (39:23; 40:6ff).
Although we had no choice but to die in God’s wrath as the punishment of our sins because we sinned against the holy God, Jesus who was without sin, took our sins instead and received all the wrath of God and was crucified on the cross for the punishment of our sins.
Since God honors such sinners like us the most, He made the righteous Jesus to serve us even to the death on the cross.
