Why did God …? (1)
The unbeliever sailors did the Lord’s will more than the disobedient prophet Jonah (Jonah 1:14).
And even though the unbeliever sailors had compassion on the disobedient prophet Jonah (v. 13),
Jonah didn’t have compassion on Nineveh, in which there were more than 120,000 persons
who didn’t know the difference between their right and left hand (4:11).
What Jonah was compassion on was the plant that delivered him from discomfort (v. 6)
For which he didn’t work and which he didn’t cause to grow,
Which came up overnight and perished overnight (v. 10).
Why did God have compassion on the prophet Jonah
who didn’t have God’s heart and who didn’t obey God’s will?
