“How long will you harbor wicked thoughts?”
The sins of the expressed acts, the sins that people know but I don’t know,
The sins of the expressed acts, the sins that people know and I also know,
The sins that I want to hide, the sins that I only know and don’t want anyone to know,
The sins that I hide, the secret sins that I only know,
The sins of thoughts that are hidden, the sins I have committed numerous times in the realm of thought,
The sins of evil thoughts, the evil sins that I am committing in the sight of God in the realm of thoughts,
The sins of evil thoughts, the sins that I harbor for long time in the realm of thoughts.
Today the Lord says to me, “How long will you harbor wicked thoughts? (Jere. 4:14)
If I harbor wicked thoughts for long, then I will be skilled in doing evil
but I won’t know how to do goo (v. 22).
I will become foolish and senseless man,
who has eyes but doesn’t see who has ears but doesn’t hear (5:21).
I won’t fear God anymore (v. 22).
I will have stubborn and rebellious heart and will trrn aside and will go astray (v. 23).
My wrongdoings will keep God’s blessings away and my sins will deprive me of good (v. 25).
Furthermore, I will love the false gospel of the false pastors
who are like wind and the word isn’t in them (v. 13)
[“a different gospel” (2 Cor. 11:4; Gal. 1:6-9)]
and the pastors who rule by their own authority (Jere. 5:31).
Therefore, this is what God saying:
“Should I not punish them for this?
"Should I not avenge myself on such a nation as this?” (vv. 9, 29)
