I didn’t understand the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Although Jesus was speaking of the temple of His body when He said 

“Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up”,

the Jews thought that Jesus was talking about the Jerusalem temple (Jn. 2:19-21).

Although Jesus was talking about His death and resurrection, the Jews didn’t understand that gospel.

As a result, they firmly believed that Jesus should be cursed by God and die on the cross

because He had spoken blasphemy about the temple.
