How should we worship God?
Instructions on how to worship God through 5 burnt offerings in Leviticus 1-5:
- First, the purpose of God’s salvation is to make us to worship God (Exodus)
- Come into church door with thanksgiving in our hearts (Psalms)
- Worship God with attitude of offering everything to Him (Burn offering, Lev. Ch. 1)
(Because God has already given us Jesus Christ and every spiritual blessing in Him)
- Worship God with attitude of determination in participating in Jesus’ suffering
(Grain offering, Lev. Ch. 2) [Because participating in Jesus’ suffering is God’s grace (Phil. 1:29)]
- Worship God as we live a life of peacemaker since through Jesus Christ’s death our relationship with God (vertical relationship) and our relationship with each other (horizontal relationship) are reconciled (Peace offering, Lev. Ch. 3) (We are both peace-makers and peace-keepers)
- Worship God as we ask God for forgiveness since all our sisn are already forgiven by God through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross (Sin offering, Lev. Ch. 4)
- Worship God after we ask others who we have sinned for forgiveness and compensate them (Guilt offering, Lev. Ch. 5)
