The poor in spirit Christians ...
- Know themselves that they are sinners.
They know that they are chief sinners.
- Acknowledge that there is nothing good in themselves.
They know that they cannot do good by themselves.
They acknowledge that the indwelling Holy Spirit does good works in and through them.
- Know that they cannot save by their own good deeds.
They acknowledge that they are saved by only what Jesus has done on the cross.
They believe that they are saved only by God’s grace.
- Rely on God completely.
They don’t rely on their own understanding but trust in God.
They pray to God always.
- Are humble.
They don’t boast themselves and seek their own glory.
They only boast the Lord and live for His glory.
