Even on the downhill path of faith

"If I should say, "My foot has slipped," Your lovingkindness, O LORD, will hold me up.

When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your consolations delight my soul" (Ps. 94:18-19).

When I am going down on a slide rather than up, when I am anxious,

When my heart is in great pain that it refuses to be comforted,

I experience deeply God’s eternal love holding me.

I give thanks to God because the Lord’s comfort makes my heart rejoice

And makes me to praise Him and exalts His name on high.
