What is different?
Satan made Paul and Silas to be put into the inner prison (Acts 16:24).
God cast Jonah into the deep (Jon. 2:3).
What is different?
While God’s purpose for Jonah was to make disobedient Jonah
To offer prayer of thanksgiving in his affliction (vv. 1-2)
And to confess that “Salvation is from the Lord” (v. 9),
Satan’s purpose for Paul and Silas was to make them
Not to proclaim “the way of salvation” (Acts 16:17).
Nevertheless, God who was in control of the Satan’s work
Not only delivered Paul and Silas from the inner prison (vv. 24, 26)
When they prayed and sang hymns of praise to God (v. 25),
But also saved the jailer who tried to kill himself (v. 27)
And he and all his household were baptized (vv. 31-34).
Our God is the God of salvation!
