Pierce to the heart

There should be piercing to our hearts when we hear “the sword of the Spirit”

That is the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ (Eph. 6:17; Acts 2:37; 7:54).

Like those 3,000 people who heard the Peter’s sermon and were pierced to the heart,

Said to Peter “Brethren, what shall we do?” (2:37),

Repented their sins and were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins (v. 38),

We must repent our sins by hearing the word of God through a pastor

And by our hearts being pierced by His word.

But for some reason, we are like the Jews who were cut to the quick and gnashed their teeth at Stephen

After they heart his message (7:54) and stoned him to death (v. 58),

We are stoning our pastor with our words out of anger and complaining

Because he has proclaimed the word of God to us.
