To give to those who cannot afford to repay …
When we give to our neighbor
We should give to “the poor” who cannot repay us,
Rather than to “the rich neighbors” who are capable of repaying us.
The reason is because we will be blessed because they cannot repay us.
That blessing is we will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.
(Lk. 14:12-14; cf. Mt. 25:40).
