Reframing our mind
1. Rethinking:
The Lord knows what we are thinking (Luke 6:8).
The Lord is asking us "Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?"
(Luke 5:22)
We must no long live as the non-believers do, in the futility of our thinking
(Ephesians 4:17; cf. Romans 1:21).
The Word of God is the reminder to stimulate us to wholesome thinking
(2 Peter 3:1).
2. Restoring:
The Lord will restore us because he has compassion on us (Zechariah 10:6).
"The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the Lord is
sure, making wise the simple" (Psalms 19:7).
The Lord restores comfort to us (Isaiah 57:18).
The Lord will restore us so that we may live in his presence (Hosea 6:2).
We should pray to God: "Restore me, and I will return, because you are the Lord
my God" (Jeremiah 31:18).
We should pray to God: "Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a
willing spirit, to sustain me" (Psalms 51:12).
When we are caught in a sin, those who are spiritual should restore us gently
(Galatians 6:1).
If we repent, the Lord will restore us that we may serve Him (Jeremiah 15:19).
The Lord will restore us to health and heal our wounds (Jeremiah 30:17).
"And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you
have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and
steadfast" (1 Peter 5:10).
3. Renewing:
"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will
is--his good, pleasing and perfect will" (Romans 12:2).
We should pray to God: "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a
steadfast spirit within me" (Psalms 51:10).
We should pray that the Lord to renew our strength (Isaiah 41:1).
When we hope in the Lord, he will renew our strength (Isaiah 40:31).
The Lord will renew our life and sustain us (Ruth 4:15).
4. Reviving:
"The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul" (Psalms 19:7).
"Revive me according to Your word" (Psalms 119:25, 154, 107, NASB).
"Revive me, O Lord, according to Your lovingkindness"
(Psalms 119:88, 159, NASB).
"Revive me through Your righteousness" (Psalms 119:40, NASB).
"Turn away my eyes from looking at vanity, And revive me
in Your ways" (Psalms 119:37, NASB).
The Lord is with those who are contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of
the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite (Isaiah 57:15).
"The humble have seen it and are glad; You who seek God, let your heart revive"
(Psalms 69:32, NASB).
"Then we will not turn away from you; revive us, and we will call on your name"
(Psalms 80:18).
