3 F’s

“We live by faith, not by sight-” (2 Corinthians 5:7).

Today, as we have 4th Scholarship Worship to God, I would like to challenge you with 3 F’s.

First “F” is “Fact”.  I want to challenge you to live the Fact-driven life rather than Feeling-driven life.

Here the Fact is referring to the Word of God. It means that you must live the Word-driven life rather than your feeling or circumstance.  In order to live the Word-driven life, you must read the Bible and mediate in His Word.  Whether you study or not, the Bible should be with you and your must read them all the days of your life (Dt. 17:19).  Do you know why?  It is because so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God and follow carefully all the words (v.19) and that you may not turn from His law to the right or to the left (v.20).  So read the Bible three chapters a day.  Make commitment to do so.  You must read at least one chapter day.

Second “F” is “Faith”.  I want to challenge you to live by faith and not by sight.

The Scripture Romans 10:17 says “faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ”.  Your faith must grow more and more as you listen to the Word of God so that you may able to walk by faith.  So many times, many of us are driven by our circumstance rather than by faith.  Especially, when we are in difficult circumstance, we tend to rely on our own limited understanding instead of trusting in God.  But the Scripture clearly says in Proverbs 3:5-6 like this: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”  Whatever you do and wherever you go, trust God.  He will guide you and lead you.  He will protect you and help you.

Third “F” is “Faithfulness”.  I want to challenge you to be faithful to the Lord.

Why don’t you reflect your life and try to see how faithful God has been to you.  Has He not been faithful to you?  Although we are faithless, He has been remained faithful for He cannot deny Himself (2 Tim. 2:13).  That’s why the Scripture 1 Corinthians 4:2 says like this: “Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful”.  Since God is faithful to us we must be faithful to Him.  I really hope and pray that you don’t fall away from the Lord.  Also, I hope and pray that you do not turn to the right or to the left, following other gods and serving them (Dt. 28:14).  Rather, I hope and pray that you press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called you heavenward in Christ Jesus (Phil. 3:14) without wavering toward right or left.  As a result, I hope and pray that when you stand before the Lord, may you be able to hear from the Lord “Well done, good and faithful servant! (Mt. 25:21).

As I conclude this message, I would like to remind you again to know the Fact, the Word of God, and have Faith in God.  And I hope and pray that you be faithful to the Lord.

In Him,

James Kim
