Preparations before Death

“Therefore I will make preparations for it." So David made extensive preparations before his death.” (1 Chronicles 22:5).

I think one of the wisdom in living is to prepare and be prepared.  And usually that’s what we do.  But I don’t think we are wise enough to prepare our death.  In other words, we do not really prepare for our death.  But King David did.  He prepared for his death.  How did he prepare for his death?  He prepared “for the house of the Lord 100,000 talents of gold and 1,000,000 talents of silver, and bronze and iron beyond weight” (v.14).  You see, Kind David prepared “great quantity” of things that his son Solomon needed to build the Jerusalem temple for the Lord(v.5), knowing that his son Solomon “is young and inexperienced, and the house that is to be built for the Lord shall be exceedingly magnificent famous and glorious throughout all lands”(v.5).  What David prepared was for the Lord’s temple.  And I am sure his preparation before his death greatly helped his son Solomon in building the magnificent and glorious house of the Lord.

Now the question is ‘What must I prepare before my death for His church?’.  Another question that is related to the first is ‘How should I prepare before my death for my children?’
