Do you fix your eye on such a one?

“Do you fix your eye on such a one?  Will you bring him before you for judgment?” (Jobs 14:3).

We as the human beings must realize following five things concerning ourselves: First, we are very weak.  We who are born of woman (v.1) are very weak.  We “springs up lie a flower and withers away” (v.2).  That’s who we are.  Second,  we are “of few days” (v.1).  In fact, our days are already determined (v.5).  God has decreed the number of our months and has set limits we cannot exceed (v.5).  Third, our lives are “full of trouble” (v.1).  In fact, the psalmist says that our span is but “trouble and sorrow” (Ps.90:10).  Fourth, our lives is “like a fleeting shadow” (Jobs 14:2).  As the psalmist says in Psalms 90:5, we are like the new grass of the morning.  Though “in the morning it springs up new, by evening it is dry and withered” (v.6).  Lastly, we are sinners (Jobs 14:4).  We are impure.  There is nothing good in us.  But the amazing truth is that God is fixing His eye on such people like us (v.3).  And He sent His one and only Son Jesus to die on the cross and shed His precious blood to forgive our sins.  In fact, He sealed up our sins in a bag and covered over all our sins (v.17).  And because of His resurrection, we are justified.  And our lives will not be limited anymore in heaven.  We will live forever.  And there will be no trouble in heaven, but perfect peace.
