A Life of Fearing God (Proverbs)

(Conclusion)

I want to abandon foolishness and walk the path of wisdom. Not only to put away foolishness but also to continually shed sinful things like hypocrisy, laziness, greed, and pride, and as a Christian, to walk the path of prudence that I ought to follow. I want to hate what God hates and love what God loves. I want to live the right Christian life. I want to be a Christian who fears God. I desire to be a wise Christian. I pray to become a wise person in God’s eyes, to be used as the Lord’s instrument shining like the lights and stars of heaven, leading many people on the right path and pleasing God (Daniel 12:3).

Therefore, I earnestly desire, seek, and continue to learn wisdom. I want to understand more deeply the benefits of wisdom and also experience the power of wisdom. I believe that wisdom is the greatest, so I ask God for wisdom and, although imperfect, I pay attention to God’s Word, meditating on it day and night to hear the voice of wisdom. When the Holy Spirit, who rules over me, continually teaches me through that Word, I want to humbly accept the instruction of wisdom and have God’s Word teach me not only in my personal faith life but also in my home—how to love my wife, how to raise my children, and how to love my neighbors.

With the wisdom given by God, I want to guard my soul and heart, and even when discouraged, rise again in the name of Jesus. Furthermore, I entrust all the management of my heart and my deeds to God, relying on Him before whom my heart is examined, and I pray to live a life that pleases God. With a wise tongue and an honest heart, I want to build wise relationships, raise my beloved wife as a virtuous woman who fears God, and raise my three children as wise Christians. I dedicate myself to building a harmonious home centered on the Lord and want to be a child who brings joy to the hearts of my parents.

I want to be a wise friend who sharpens others, and by the wisdom God gives, be a peacemaker who keeps and maintains peace. Humbly participating in the Lord’s work of building His church, the body of Christ, I pray that the church may be one that glorifies God and fulfills His purpose.

I pray to live a life that fears God and to be a wise Christian who pleases God.
