The Lord gives us a heart of compassion and moves us

to reach out to our loved ones who are suffering.

Jesus, knowing that the crowd of about 4,000 men (excluding women and children)

had been with Him for three days and had no food, felt compassion for them.

He did not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.

At that point, Jesus' disciples asked Him, "Where could we get enough bread

in this remote place to feed such a large crowd?"

Jesus asked them, "How many loaves do you have?"

They replied, "Seven loaves, and a few small fish."

Jesus then instructed the crowd to sit on the ground.

He took the seven loaves and the few fish, gave thanks, and broke them.

He then gave them to His disciples to distribute to the people.

They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of leftovers

(Matthew 15:32-38).

The Lord gives us a heart of compassion and moves us

to reach out to our loved ones who are suffering.

But there are many times when we do not know what to do for them.

At such times, we must look to the Lord and pray with faith first in thanksgiving.

And we must share with them the Word of the Lord,

which is the bread of life that the Holy Spirit reminds us of.

Therefore, they will receive the spiritual food, the Word of God’s power,

and gain strength to endure their suffering and finally be victorious!
