We should seek the Lord's help

even from places that feel like graves.

Jonah, the prophet, who was fleeing from God in disobedience,

experienced suffering, but in his pain, he cried out to the Lord,

and the Lord answered him.

He sought help from the Lord from a place like the grave,

and the Lord heard his voice

(Jonah 1:1-3; 2:2).

As I reflect on this passage, I receive three lessons:

(1) When we face suffering as a result of our disobedience,

we must cry out to the Lord,

(2) We should seek the Lord's help even from places that feel like graves,

(3) The Lord hears our cries and is the God who answers us!"
