Not only does God grant us everything we ask for, but …

After briefly praying to the God of heaven,

when he responded to the emperor,

Nehemiah's "request was gladly accepted.

Therefore, Nehemiah made another request to the emperor,

and because God was with Nehemiah,

the emperor granted everything Nehemiah asked for

(Nehemiah 2:4-8).

As I reflect on this passage,

even though we may have only prayed briefly to God,

because God is always with us, He not only grants everything we ask for

but also reminds us that He is the God who is able to do immeasurably

more than all we ask or imagine

(Ephesians 3:20).
