The Lord's servants who serve the Lord's church must be people
whom all church members think well of.
On that day, men were appointed to be in charge of the storerooms
for the contributions, firstfruits, and tithes.
They were to collect from the fields of the towns the portions required
by the Law for the priests and Levites and store them in the storerooms.
This was because all the people of Judah were pleased
with the priests and Levites who served in the temple
(Nehemiah 12:44).
As I meditate on this passage, I learn that those who serve the Lord’s church
should be well-regarded by all church members.
In other words, the entire church family should find joy
in the servants of the Lord who minister to the church.
