A heart that does not give thanks

for received grace is already a proud heart.

When all the nations looked up to King Hezekiah, he fell ill and was near death.

So, he prayed to God, who responded to his prayer and gave him a sign

that he would recover from his illness.

However, Hezekiah's heart became proud,

and he did not show gratitude for the grace he received

(2 Chronicles 32:23-25).

As I reflect on these words, I am reminded of the verse from 1 Corinthians 10:12:

"Therefore, let the one who thinks he is standing watch out that he does not fall."

I also realize that when our hearts become proud, we fail to appreciate the grace given to us by God.

In other words, a heart that does not give thanks for received grace is already a proud heart.
