A family famine?

For Naomi, the famine meant

more than just leaving her homeland and moving to Moab.

She also lost her husband, Elimelech,

and her two sons, Mahlon and Kilion,

leaving her all alone (Ruth 1:1-5).

Thus, the famine for Naomi was a family famine.

This family famine was not just about losing money,

but also about losing beloved family members.
