Murderous hatred?
Esau, unaware that his mother was the mastermind,
thought his brother Jacob had deceived him and stolen the blessing meant for him.
After being deceived by Jacob a second time,
Esau hated Jacob and resolved in his heart to kill him
once their father had passed away
(Genesis 27:35-36, 41).
Thinking of Esau, who harbored such murderous hatred,
reminds me of Cain, who killed his brother Abel (4:8).
The Bible says, "Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one
and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him?
Because his own actions were evil and his brother's were righteous. ...
Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer,
and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him"
(1 John 3:12, 15).
