Deacons, like pastors and elders...

Like pastors and elders,

deacons must be husbands of one wife

and govern their children and their families well

(1 Timothy 3:12).

The deacons

The deacons must not double-tongued, not be addicted to alcohol,

not greedy for filthy gain, and have a clear conscience

(1 Timothy 3:8-9).

The deacon's wives

Deacons' wives must also be neat, self-controlled,

not slandering others, and faithful in all things

(1 Timothy 3:11).
