We must not live according to the flesh

and be controlled by the flesh.

The Holy Spirit dwells within us who believe in Jesus Christ.

Therefore, we no longer live under the domination of the flesh

but under the domination of the Spirit.

Consequently, we must not live according to the flesh

but through the Spirit, put to death the deeds of the body.

This is because we are God's children who are led by the Spirit

(Romans 8:9, 12-14).
