Why do we think we can't bear the trials we face?

Certainly, the Bible states,

"God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear ..."

So why do we think we cannot bear the trials we face?

What is the reason we lack the ability to endure?

Could it be that we do not believe in the faithful God who gives us the ability to endure?

Could it be that we are not living by faith but by sight?

(1 Corinthians 10:13; 2 Corinthians 5:7)
