Love does not envy.

Those who are worldly envy (3:3).

Envy rots the bones (Proverbs 14:30).

If there is bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts,

do not boast about it or deny the truth (James 3:14).

For where you have envy and selfish ambition,

there you find disorder and every evil practice (v. 16)

Envy kills the fool (Job 5:2).

Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit,

hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind (1 Peter 2:1).
