The Lord who makes it calm.

Suddenly, a great storm swept over the boat they were sailing in, causing it to sink.

However, Jesus, who was asleep, was awakened by his disciples.

When he got up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves,

and the storm subsided, and the sea became calm.

Even when our lives encounter great storms of adversity,

we gain strength by quietly trusting in the Lord.

We pray, hope, and wait, expecting the Lord

to calm the great storms of adversity and deliver us from peril

(Isaiah 30:15; Luke 8:23-24).
