By obeying the twofold commandment, we must bear twofold fruit

Believers in Jesus, who already possess eternal life

by trusting in Jesus, the disciples of our Lord Jesus,

when they love our God with all their heart, soul, and mind,

and love their neighbor as themselves (Matthew 22:37, 39),

bear the twofold fruit according to Jesus's twofold commandment.

This twofold fruit is participating in the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4),

meaning becoming more like Jesus through the sanctification of the Holy Spirit,

and bearing the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23),

which includes love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,

goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
