Better is the success of the righteous, even with hardship,
than the prosperity of the wicked without trouble.
In the success of the wicked, which might provoke jealousy,
there is no experience of the suffering, disaster, or pain
that people endure, leading to arrogance.
However, in the success of the righteous,
there is suffering, disaster, and pain, leading to humble obedience
(Ps. 73:3-6, 14, 16; Heb. 5:8).
