To the Holy Spirit, who is the giver of life ...
The Holy Spirit, who is the giver of life,
has already brought us back to life,
even though we were dead in trespasses and sins (Eph. 2:1)
(regeneration) (past resurrection),
and when the Lord comes again,
He will make us live forever (Rom. 8:13; 1 Cor. 15:52-53; 1 Thess. 4:16)
(eternal life) (future resurrection).
This Spirit dwells within us (Rom. 8:9),
bringing us into fellowship with the Father God and the Holy Son Jesus (1 Jn. 1:3)
and guiding us into understanding (Jn. 17:3),
producing the fruit of the Spirit, which is love (Gal. 5:22),
so that we may fulfill Jesus' twofold commandment:
"To love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind,"
and also, "To love your neighbor as yourself" (Mt. 22:37, 39),
thus, as those who are now living between 'already regeneration'
and 'not yet (perfect) eternal life' on this earth,
He enables us to partially enjoy and live in the eternal life and peace of heaven (Rom. 8:6)
(life) (current resurrection).
