Satan makes us focus

on human concerns rather than God's concerns.

Satan causes us

to not think about the suffering, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus.

Satan leads us

to acknowledge ourselves in following Jesus

rather than denying ourselves,

to carry a decorative cross instead of bearing our own cross of suffering.

Satan persuades us

to save our lives instead of losing them

for the sake of Jesus and the gospel

(Mk. 8:31-36).
